Coaching Staff

Meet your coaches:

Walt Neubauer

Coach Walt is the Owner and Head Coach at Wilmington Weightlifting Club.  He is also President of the North Carolina LWC, a USAW National Coach where he has coached and assisted in coaching some of the best lifters in the country.

His philosophy in coaching is with guiding lifters in the right direction with training hard, but most importantly, in training SMART.  Heavily advocating the ideal that every training session should build into an athlete's long-term success and health, building solid foundations for their longevity within the sport of weightlifting.

Being an accomplished National coach, helping our athletes secure over 100 National and International medals, he puts his experience and love for coaching out there as a Coaching Course Instructor for USA Weightlifting, where he helps in teaching and producing knowledgeable, well-rounded coaches that, in turn, apply what they learn into coaching their own athletes all around the country.

Our lifters are often recognized as being not only strong and accomplished, but as being some of the most respectful, technically proficient and all-around beautiful lifters; and it all starts and ends with the philosophy and genuine objective from our Head Coach and ringleader here at the Wilmington Weightlifting Club.
