East Coast Gold Lift-Off

 

USAW Sanctioned Meet: 

 

Saturday, May 12th, 2018

 

Come on out to the Wilmington Weightlifting Club this may to get in on this sensational meet!  In place of our Spring Open, The Wilmington Weightlifting Club will be hosting The 2018 East Coast Gold Lift-Off!

This meet is OPEN TO ALL current USAW members

Lifters of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to come out and participate at this fun event!  Registered lifters will receive a shirt and entry into the meet with an opportunity to medal within their allotted age and weight category.  Come lift with us!  << Click here to Register >>
 

East Coast Gold Training Camp

 

Three-day training camp:  March 16th-18th

 

We will be hosting an East Coast Gold Training Camp heading into the 2018 National Championships:  a three day camp where lifters will receive a hands-on, open-floor review, designed to help identify individual weaknesses to help lifters improve their technique and efficiency in the snatch, clean and jerk.  Lifters will be under the watchful eye of Coach Leo Totten,  Phil Sabatini, Walt Neubauer and surrounded by some of America's best lifters as they receive immediate feedback and corrections leading into the National Championships this May.

This Camp is OPEN TO ALL skill levels and will provide all who attend with invaluable information that you can carry into your training routine and endlessly improve your personal performance in weightlifting.
 

USAW Sports Performance Coaching Course

 

Level 1:  February 24th-25th

The purpose of this course is to take all participants through complete technical progressions of the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, and all associated movements including Power Snatch, Power Clean, Power Jerk, Squat variations, and pulling progressions. Participants will gain base line knowledge about the programming of training and technical rules.

 

The course includes theoretical classroom, and practical hands-on portions. Course duration is over one weekend and lasts approximately 13-14 hours with up to 9 hours being practical and 4-5 hours lecture based. It is suitable for Strength & Conditioning /Sports Performance, Health & Fitness and beginning level competitive Weightlifting Coaches alike.

USAW Advanced Sports Performance Coaching Course

 

Level 2:  February 3rd-4th

(Must Be Current Sports Performance or Club Coach to Register)

The Advanced Sports Performance Coach Course is the second course in the Coaching Education Program.

This course is applicable for those coaches seeking advanced knowledge to better themselves and their athletes. It is a requirement for weightlifting coaches seeking to attain the National Coach Rating.

All individuals who successfully complete the course requirements will receive the USA Weightlifting Advanced Sports Performance Coach Certificate. Advanced Sports Performance Coaches that successfully complete the background check and Athlete Performance requirements will receive the USA Weightlifting National Coach Rating.

The scope and sequence of this course is to provide formal instruction in the areas of:

  • Advanced Strength and Power Principles

  • Advanced Biomechanical Principles of Weightlifting

  • Advanced Program Design Application

  • Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology as it relates to Weightlifting

  • Application of Long Term Athletic Development for Weightlifters

  • Coaching Principles

  • National and International Competition Preparation

  • Nutrition; Daily Regime and Phases

  • Skill Acquisition of Athletes

  • Sports Psychology for Weightlifting
